On the other hand if I do it perhaps I'll be in shape  But hungry as a bear.

P.S. won't do it 24 hrs of course  Just no biscuits during the day

ok, i see no relevance to what you said. if the guy wants to give fasting a try whats wrong with it? how do you get from that to him being in love?

and whats so wrong about someone being in love with a muslim person anyway? (even though i know this has nothing to do with the above topic. sorry concord!)

because I don't think that unless you r a devoted muslim, understanding the religion and so on, you would ever sacrifice and understand the meaning of Holy month of Ramadan unless you are so blindly in love with someone muslim.........like I once did....and it was a mistake....... am not saying this guy is

a muslim man cannot just marry any non musilm woman. the woman has to be devout follower of the people of the book (christianity or judaisim -- which is how they are referred to in the quran)if the woman belongs to any other religion (hinduism, agnostic, buddhism and so on) he is not allowed to marry her.

i was told that the reason allah has made it acceptable for men to marry a non muslim woman (from the people of the book) is because originally, those two religions are similar to Islam, and if she is devout, she is following the basics of Islam as well. Also, because the children are more likely to follow the religion of the father rather than the mother.

and that is what i know, hope it helps.

If you are living in a Muslim Country and want to try fasting, as a non-muslim, why not, after all it will help us to understand the dedication and devotion required. Which will automatically give a deeper insight and respect for our hosts.

Fasting has been proven to be healthy and it also cleanses you body and mind for atleast a month.

Just make sure

You don't eat or drink, abstain from sex, abstain from swearing , abstain from speaking ill of someone, abstain from purpose bleeding from dusk to dawn...

I won't be trying it. The thought of not being able to have a cup of tea or coffee and a few ciggies during the day would blow me away. I need my de-stress fixes!

As I work in an office full of nationals, out of respect for them, I will also fast during the hours I am at the office.

Plus, I think it will be good for me.

Fasting only cleanses if you eat NOTHING for at least a week. If you wait till sundown to eat huge meals, that does not cleanse the body.
