Residency Cap

I am sure you're all aware about the proposed "3+3" residency cap on unskilled workers. Good thing is that some business groups refuse to welcome this proposal. Since most of DFers are expats, what's your thought about this issue? ---------------- PS. If someone made a thread about the sam...

Pathetic. How about arabs raising the middle finger in public in front of the non-arab ladies? Well, Filipinos will not report them to the police, we'll most likely shrug it off and move on. There are more acts of explicit lewdness in public that the conservative people should be vigilant about. Rap...

If this will be implemented, would this mean even those "skilled" workers but holding "unskilled" visa will be included in 3+3 residency cap? Or how about the "unskilled" holding a visa for "skilled"?????? I think this is challenging on the government's...

This is true. Not only foreign women can be raped here, but men as well. The sad fact is that if you come forward and complain to the authorities, the assailant will just say "you're in a relationship" or the victim is a prostitute? The irony is that the victim ends in jail for having illi...

Brown egg is a little expensive by .50 fils or more. Contrary to Raidah and Royski, there's no difference between white and brown eggs other than its color or cosmetic appearance. Quality and healthy wise, both are the same. Hens with red feathers (as described by raidah) lay brown eggs, hens with w...

There's a company that arrange for deep sea fishing for Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Fenikia Marina (im not sure if i spell it right) - they can arrange the boat for you all. In Sharjah, there are boats for rent also somewhere in Buheira corniche. It's time to go fishing! We're heading to Ras Al Khaimah.

Sorry for the late reply. There's ongoing reclamation area between Umm Al Qwain and RAK, that's where we go fishing. Shh...that's a side trip after work. We're still exploring some fishing sites down there, and i will let you know soon. But it's crabbing time now. Hehehe! I haven't tried the boat in...

Some are using the toilets for ablution, so it's flooding most of the time. I've seen ladies washing their feet in a sink or lavatory, but it's ok.

Very harsh punishment indeed! In my opinion, rape victims are victimized twice by the alleged rapist and by going on the humiliating process of proving their case in court especially if the court is dominated by male juries. Bringing your case in court is not a joke, except the cases mentioned by Bu...

^count the Philippines in. We're using letter size and legal size papers, but some are using A3 too though not common. Geodetic engineers and land surveyors i know back home prefer to use A3 size, i don't know why.

I felt sorry for the couple on the right. Can't they not seat beside each other closer at least? Can't they not seat closer and look at each other's eyes, instead of looking at the couple on the left?

Arabs lusting for fair-skinned, bodyhair-less young men is a common perception from my country. That's why when they knew I was going here to work, they'd joke me that I'd get raped. I believed then that they were just being stereotypical. But hearing tons of stories here and experiencing personall...

Re: Delicious Crab, anywhere?

Anyone knows any restaurant that serve good crabs? And I dont mean salt water crab. Preferbly Sri Lankan crabs. Thanks! I am interested to taste other (not salt water) crabs, are there? Crayfish as pet sounds unique if not weird. Unless you're planning to open a fine dining restaurant. 1.5 meter x 1 meter size of tank for a couple of small crayfish is fine, but i am not sure if they can survive using tap water full of chlorine.
