Atlast! Well he did state some logical points but most of em were obscured by his offensive words which Liban's comments made it worse!

I'm usually against banning people. But in this case, I wanted to never see his posts again.

It doesn't matter how "different" his opinion is, as long as he articulates it in a way that is constructive to the discourse. But his posts are nothing like that. First of all you can never make out which side/opinion he's on. His posts sound like hallucinations of a mind on crack, which is deeply troubled, and which insults everybody.

So yeah, good thing that he's been booted.

So very well put, couldn't have said it better myself. People on here need to remember, its not always what you say, its how you say it and the tone attached to it.

We did give him fair warning. If he chose not to listen then he gets punished. This is his punishment.

It sucks it had to come to this because I feel bad that we have to ban someone here.... But unfortunatly, actions had to be taken...

Lets hope we don't resort to this again despite the fact I support HPs ban.

I agree D - Unit. I voted no for 2 reasons

1. There is very little point because as DU just said , he will just log back in with a new user

and

2. it is down to the moderators to delete his offensive posts and up to forum members to alert the moderators of such.

On a side issue some of the moderators like Jamal can be most rude and abrupt.

The moderators here have to lead by example, the same goes in any forum. If the moderators cannot control their own foul language then it is not for them to judge others.

Well you have to accept & appreciate the "Diversity of moderators" here. Yes Jamal was locked up in a Satwa for a yr and returned changed in his behaviour and speech. He acts like a "western nigga" and that post which arnie posted is "normal" post. Do a search and you will get the trend. But next guy to b banned is def Ahmed. Yes you read that right Ahmed.

Have to admit, whilst it initially brought some jovial banter to the forum, after I while I totally skipped his/her posts, as they were totally incoherant and abusive (some other posts are the same as well).

I take it we can block his IP addy? If not, then banning him will only make him come back under a different handle!

I agree, at first I enjoyed them as they sparked interesting responses but then just started skipping his posts. (He did go too far many times)

Also if you read some of the recent posts I would say HP isn't even in the top 10 for "incoherent and abusive", This forum has really been going down hill over the last month or 2, I use to look forward to reading the posts, no longer.

Religion is supposed to give you guidance and the ability to tolerate people’s difference and guidance for YOUR life, not to be used as justification to condemn/belittle others.
How many people actually know what Muslim means? How many people know that if you go by the literal meaning of this word, Christians and Jews are considered Muslims? How many people on this board realize that Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) invited other religions to pray beside him?
At the end of the day if you believe in God, Karma, whatever you will only be judged for your actions not how you judge other peoples actions.

…end of rant.

Hi,

Ineresting post there Fayz.

About banning people, I guess its an exercise in futility. Having said that we need to have some sort of guidelines we need to stick to. Self censorship is the best way out. in case any of the members post 'incoherent and abusive' stuff, the only way to handle it is to IGNORE and NOT REACT.

Think about it... if HP's posts qualify as abusive, just ignore and do not reply. Same for any other post. have you ever part of a conversation where nobody replies to your comments/remarks?
I am sure you wil simply slip away soon! :-)

And by the way..... there are times when I look forward to HP's posts... spcially when I am having a bad day. They make me laugh and get over all the stress. :-)

banning HP alone is a biased and double standard decision - lot of other people are there who use abusive language more than HP -

Actually this wasn't something I was aware of either, I went to a tour of the Jumeria Mosque last week before I left for Palestine and the speaker mentioned it.
