I still prefer backpacks. (well, I mostly travel like a hippie).

a few clothes, a torch, pocket knife , shaving stuff, sleeping bag(on a few occasions) and some maps or guides and that's it.

What are you looking for when you are traveling?
shopping? nature? nightlife? cultures?
