Burj al Arab Construction Photos? Oct 09, 2006
Does anyone have a link or photos of the Burj al Arab during the construction phase? I have only been able to find 2 photos on the net - one on travelimages.com and another site which I forget.

Cheers,

Ross :D

There's actually an interesting video kicking about somewhere of the Burj under construction. I think its been suppressed and is in the hands of a few of the contracting companies who were there on the day...a crane failed and the top section that was being lifted into place at the time, fell the full height of the building and trashed a portacabin!

Allegedly.

You will need to contact Jumeirah / Dubai Holding if you want these, and be warned you will need to have a good reason to get them, curiosity is not enough.

FYI - all imagery of the Burj is now held under strict copyright by Jumeirah.

On a side note, it is hard to argue that it does not look like a cross from this angle:

I looked for Burj al Arab on YouTube and theres a clip from the National Geographic channel and it shows you the construction of the Burj al Arab, which was really interesting.

The link to the video is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A7d67A24Qo&eurl=
if anyone is interested.

Ross :D

EDIT: P.S. I don't know if YouTube is banned in the UAE, so sorry if the link doesn't work.
