I could do with a bit of help on this one...
I have been working in Dubai since 2008 on a contract that is clearly indicated to underly DIFC law.
A discussion has come up regarding End of Service Gratuity
The contract explicitly says in a separate Paragraph titled Joining Date:
Employee shal begin rendering services as per 1st July 2008. Recognition will be given for service since joining the company, therefore continuous Service date is 1 July 2002.
Before 2008 I worked for the same company in Europe
The company now says End of Service Gratuity is calculated form 2008, whereas my interpretation is that it should be calculated from 2002.
Does anyone know what is correct?
