I have worked for a company for almost 9 years now and 2 weeks ago was promoted to a new position for which I had to sign a new contract.

Can I have my accrued gratuity paid to me now ?

Good question. Technically yes they should pay it out, as one contract was ended and a new one entered into; practically however I have my doubts. You also understand that as you have signed a new contract you are also subject to a new period of probation (probably 3 months); as such I wouldn't make to big an issue of the gratuity at this stage!
