Ehe no worries. But it's a nice idea, intimate, yet not too intimidating from what I gather.

Well "blind dates" don't necessarily have to be linked to romance or well end up with both parties in bed. After all even big DF meetings are kinda like blind dates for new members and I met quite a few members on "blind dates" (male or female) without any idea of hooking up during that date. It's a great way to meet ppl but of course you need to get an idea of who you're dealing with before...

Some ppl aren't too comfortable with meeting complete strangers but I personally never really had a problem with it. Not that I do it a lot (never did before joining DF) but some ppl even have problems being comfortable at let's say, a dinner where you only know the host but not the other guests. That's something that never bothered me.

It freaks the hell outta me. I'm the shy/retiring type really you see.

im kinda shy at the begining too..but i warm up easily..

Well in my case, I found it to be easier and less frightening than the idea of staying in Dubai with my 2 couch potatoes flat-mates as my only friends! All my friends are in Europe/US or back home in Lebanon so I had to make friends from scratch here. Thanks to DF, I've made a few really good ones so far...

anyway, why would blind date be different in dubai than in any other place?
and fortunately or unfortunately, the days when going to a blind date was equal to being a looser are over.

I can blend with strangers & Ive had a couple of 'blind dates' in my late teens. Urgh sucked to the core. They always turned out to be so not upto my xpectations! no matter how low i kept them lol it was all for fun back then, but my advise, never go blind dating, dun be sooo low life!!

What can't you understand? We already said that this forum is not a dating forum. Also, trying to persuade someone to meet you after you have barely contributed to this community and no one knows you personally for a recommendation, not to mention the fact that you could give a fake picture and talk all kinds of false crap when chatting up - is all rather silly. This is a community for sharing information about life in Dubai and making friends. If you are only interested in dating then go to a nightclub and try your luck there.

i would suggest you to attend some DF meetings like tea party etc..then start from there..blind date doesn't mean you'll end up in bed. you are not a loser you just don't know the way..now we'll show you the way.. goodluck!

I've had a few blind dates and never again.

First you have to read the menu out to them.
The dog underneath the table pants and salivates at the smell of the food.
Occasionally wine gets spilt... everywhere.
And then what... you can't go to the movies!

Blind dates - hmm, I've had dates where I met people off the net that I've chatted to on MSN or something. One was a girl who sat with the same drink for 3 hours (I'm sadly not exagerating). That was like watching paint dry!
Another I met this wonderful girl - and 3 months later we are still dating!!

So guys, when is the next DF meeting or tea party, or whatever?

i just feel to get a good person in life we should try to take an option like a blind date, as fates are made in heven. well most of them say that.
