No, they need a copy of all your certificates. I don't think the originals are required, well, not for education. Maybe for marriage, birth cert etc.

Re: 2007 CRV - comment pls

If I know I wouldn't be posting here would I? Besides new models keep coming out, fast these days, its so hard to keep track. So if you have so much experience why don't you give your 2 cents worth instead of just "it looks awful" remark? If you keep waiting for new models to stop...

Oh, sorry. You asked for opinions, well you got mine: I think it looks pants. I am not an SUV/4x4 person, but the Honda I think is ugly.

Murano/FX35 are by far better looking SUV's, but that is MY OPINION.

Also, what is your budget, that would also be a great help.

Thanks for your constructive comments  I have narrowed down to the Escape & CRV (yes I am not a SUV person either but I am in Dubai and I do need to go to sites and I don't want a big car) They are about the same price ie below 100k. Agree on Murano, I like it as well. Why not chuck in Ran...

Correct, however, down in Abu Dhabi, 1 cheque is the norm, not the exception.

Try living in Deira and travelling to Abu Dhabi!

Re: dress code

hi, all. speaking of dress code: i am a female, and i'm wondering if the dress code in dubai is "strict", like: do they allow females to wear sleeveless or spaghetti-strapped dresses/blouses there? or figure-hugging jeans? i'll be there next month and i'd sure appreciate knowing what kind...

Re: Kittens needing a home!

I saw a poster at my local Spinneys with two absolutely adorable 7 month old kittens (siblings) that need a home desperately or they will be put to sleep. In the picture the cats have their arms around each other and they are so cute! They are slim, Asian style cats like we see a lot of here, and t...

Depends on what car you have and what parts you are looking for. 1000 Dunes and Performance are probs the best. Also, Sub-Zero has some damn good stuff available. Pick up a copy of Auto-trader or other UAE car mags. A lot of them advertise around. There are 100's in Sharjah, but you take the risk. T...

Re: Is there something I should know about Al Barsha?

I went for a walk yesterday from my house in the Lakes to Mall of the Emirates and had a very strange experience. In total on the way there and back, 3 cars stopped to “offer me a lift” home. I’ve heard about the generosity of the locals but they seemed a mix of nationalities (I wasn’t hanging arou...

As you are renting the car, the rental company will get the ticket, if one was issued. However, in your case, it would appear that you did not. Here in the UAE, you do not know what tickets you have got until you go and re-register your car. As some have said above, you can check on-line at the link...

They do sell them in Dubai, but when you buy the car it does not come with a "stealership" warranty.

Think they run at around Dhs140K or so.

Heard good and bad things about these cars (yeah, lets forget the past   ). From all acounts they are a pretty decent motor.
