Which VPN service (to bypass the big E)?

I'm searching for reliable and not too expensive VPN service (yes, to bypass the big E) for home connection. Any recommendations?

I've tried some free solutions (e.g. free proxy), but they are not reliable and sometimes can't be used at all.

PM is Ok for privacy.

I would suggest you go with one that is an SSL VPN and not one that requires a client to be installed on your machine. megaproxy.com is a good one i have used in the past. Also if you, or a friend you know works in TECOM and you have some technical know how you could setup openvpn (http://www.openv...

There's no requirement of exit & re-entry permit in UAE (and most of other countries).
Only in Saudi Arabia... because it's Saudi Arabia ;)

One more to add what I dislike about Dubai. Often many people are bragging (being arrogant). Just because they have lots of money to afford this and that. Just because they can afford to buy the most expensive car or the biggest SUV. Just because they are X race (I'm not saying what, but you can fin...

Thanks, xty. Sorry for not replying earlier as I was negotiating with my employer. Since you're Indonesia, I guess you're the right person to ask a few more questions. I have a furnished apartment here, and was thinking of bringing/shipping stuff over to Dubai. Do you think it's worth it? Or should...

Just go directly to Dubai Municipality head office in Deira. Ask the reception for Mr. Mansoor (if I'm not mistaken) for consultancy. 2007 rules, basically: 1. if you had the first contract in 2006, then you're entitled not to get raise at all in 2007. 2. if this is not your first/second contract, t...

Sometimes I challenge them back no matter who they are. If I'm right then why should I be afraid? Ignoring will make them continue to behave like that. Someone needs to teach them a lesson.

happyhog wrote:Is that $1400 AED or USD? Would you know if Ikea there is cheaper or same as in Malaysia or Indonesia?
Thanks

It was in Thai Baht but equivalent of USD 1400.
There's no IKEA in Indonesia, so no idea about the price comparison.
The rough prices I gave are in AED.

While all are true, but some are common to other countries, unless for the country called Heaven. Pretty broad statement. Like which ones and which countries? Here we go: 1. Hot temperature? Try other Middle East countries and South Asian countries. 2. Prostitutes? In which country they don't exist...

The money is not incredible (around 300k per year, everything included except medical insurance), but might be able to save 2-3kAED a month. Not that it will be enough. If you're single and willing to stay low (mid-class accommodation), for that salary you can save at least 10K AED per month. you'r...

I don't know much about those stuffs, though I don't think you can find them easily in Dubai. However I saw a second hand shop for turntables and AV receivers in Al Attar Shopping Mall (Karama) and a shop selling vinyls just 30m next to my apartment (opposite Burjuman, behind Avenue store). Just in ...

In many cases like this, I'd have to agree with GT. "Comfort level" is too broad. Some people live happily with 15K a month, some people don't live happily with 50K a month with the same situation. It's like if one will not be able to afford living in multi bedrooms villa with two big SUVs...

Affordable 4x4 (Hyundai Tucson)

It seems pretty much popular in Dubai and yet affordable. If I had only a budget for the 2.0L AT 4x4 Hyundai Tucson, will it be Ok (enough power) to make desert/mountain trip occasionally? Not for dune bashing or hard off roading, just for going camping with family, climb up the dunes for enjoying v...

If I'm not mistaken, 2-3K HKD per month equiv 1-1.5K AED per month. That's a piece of cake, you can save a lot more than that in Dubai, IF you don't expect much and consider these options... - Accommodation is the ultimate (biggest in your expense). If your children can share a room, you can take de...

How many World Cup in a year they have?
Like almost every week they play the same team/country over and over again, with slightly different rules.

Re: YOUR BEST HOLIDAY

When and where did you spend your best holiday and what made it extra special? May 2005. Venice, Italy. Celebrating my daughter's first birthday who's first-named after the city/region. Great, romantic, unique city. Love it. No baby friendly though (cobbled stone and lots of stairs) ;) Went to near...

I asked for an additional IP, they told me to pay money even if i dont use it! so i declined. I believe so. There's always free dyndns.org service (+DynDNSUpdater). That's how I do re...

It won't climb dunes, dude. Also, if you get stuck, there is no low-range gearing to help you get out. I've seen the ads too, of it climbing dunes in Hatta. But it is misleading to hint that it can play on dunes competently. I guess the 2.7L V6 won't do either? But gravels and small dunes are Ok ri...

If I were you I'd buy big capacity external harddisk and rip those DVDs and CDs into it, hand-carry it, instead of bringing the discs (more heavy and obvious of being checked). I'm totally noob with 4x4. If I knew about cars, I could have bought used but with better specs.

Dell laptop service center quality?

Interested in Dell XPS laptop (top specs, cool look) to replace my 3 years old HP Compaq which starting to show its "old age sickness" (though the spec is still more than enough).
How is the Dell service center quality in Dubai?
