Oooo. Controversial. Well. Personally I don't like the UK and some of the things that it stands for. So I'm gonna have to go for Sheikh Mohammed.

It's a shame that Bob Woolmer died, RIP.

It was a good result for Ireland. I managed to catch the final ball that clinched it for them. St. Patrick's day an' all.

No Wonder Dubai's Roads Are So Unsafe!

No wonder Dubai's roads are so unsafe! Have a look at the 2nd video of the cars driving along Jumeirah Beach Road. Especially the last two cars in the video.

There's a Lloyds TSB out in Dubai and they provide an internet banking service. I'm not sure about the other features though.

Check their website at www.lloydstsb.ae

Fires in Dubai

Anyone affected by these? I was reading about a fire in Al Quoz 3 at a paper recycling site and the fire at a building on Sheikh Zayed Road.

It's also on Emirates News.

Ah yes, another concert in Dubai and another set of phone calls from the father.

She sounds just like the CD! But apparently she isn't very good tonight...

I don't know about candle lit dinners but Asha's @ Wafi City has a nice relaxed atmosphere. No heavy lighting and background music is just the right level and taste.

21st Century Tower on Sheikh Zayed road is 100% occupied by Emirates Cabin Crew. It's the building that carried the World Cup 2006 advert and when I left in January was advertising the Lagoons (I think), although it may have changed since then. http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=21centurytower-duba...

It's roasting. It's warmer than a warm bath and it can be great for a while, but then you just want to cool down.

Teen haters! Remember you used to be our age many moons ago!

Having asked this question before, I've heard a lot of people hang about in MoE (Mall of the Emirates).

Check out this thread:

VOIP Available in UAE by End of Year

There's a possibility that Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) may be allowed by the end of the year in the UAE, says the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA). Good news for those spending a small fortune on calls internationally! Links to the article @ 7Days: http://www.7days.ae/showstory.php?id=5179...

Answer these questions:

1. Do you have a licence already?
2. If so, where is it from? (One of the "Licence Exchange" countries?)
3. How old are you?

Vista is still, in my opinion, in development and much like what XP was like when it first launched.

I'd prefer to keep with XP right now as it's fairly stable (Windows is never fully stable remember!). Give it 2-4 years and Vista will be the way to go, but not for now.

Judging by how Mirage are handling things, you could only be better than them...

I quite enjoy the prayer calls, particularly around mid-day and 5-6pm time, when the day is just winding down and you're sitting on the front porch, chillin'...

I can officially say that the best cheesecake available in Dubai is from your humble KFC. The vanilla cheesecake comes in individual slices and everytime we go we order 6 each time and they don't last the night!!

So don't bother carrying any in your luggage as (just to iterate the point again) you may or may no...
