Absolutely. India outplayed Australia in the last two matches. The record now stands at 4 wins from 21 starts. I'm over cricket now. It's Rugby season. To be honest, the CB series is just too long. Glad they've scrapped it for next year. I could describe why it is too long and how it is advantageou...

UAE to get self serve petrol

http://gulfnews.com/nation/Traffic_and_Transport/10195984.html A bit humerous really. In Australia we have had self service since I was a small child, but I doubt the concept would catch on here. Even so, one of the biggest flaws is this service requires you to purchase prepaid cards to utilise the ...

like any emiratee will step out of his car and fill up.. Like anyone would? Occasionally when it's really busy I've got out of the car at the petrol station and filled my car, but I have seen many sit in their car indignantly tooting their horn - and most of them weren't Emirati. Perhaps there need...

abu dhabi is a marvelous place - its like living in the 70s. Minus the marijuana I imagine. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often actually, the whole driving off with the pump still in the tank... I think is part of the reason why they wash the windows and make sure they finish washing them *a...

Was involved in casual discussion on the weekend over a few beers involving people from several disciplines of the development cycle (from architects, to project managers, finance people and sales and marketing).

Nobody thinks the prices are going to go anywhere but up for the next 2 to 3 years.

It's largely a matter of taste personally. The water that comes out of the tap whilst perfectly safe to drink... tastes pretty awful when compared to bottled water. The water here also causes all types of skin, scalp and hair problems, so it is not without it's heavy elements. It is quite HARD or HE...

I just find it amazing how people purchase bottled water purely, as far as I can see, because of the clever marketing of the suppliers. If I had of said to you 15 years ago that you would pay $2AUD for 500ml of water in any westernised/developed country in the world, I would of been laughed out of ...

Sage - there is absolutely no logic in your response. Boiling will not reduce TDS. Boiling for long enough will kill bacteria. I agree the water in the mains is bacteriologically safe. However - the water at your tap may not be. Two things. Firstly, boiling will only increase the saturation in the ...

I don't think anyone disputes that there will be a correction, or at least a slowdown... and a medium risk of a crash... this will happen as sure as the sky is blue and dirt doesn't taste too good. The issue for many is predicting when such a thing will happen, and *when* is a very important timefra...

It will actually make it worse, because as the water boils off it will increase the ppm of the contaminants in the water.

Ian - I agree. I was just testing the logic - if supply is not restricted after all, then prices will/should fall. My view is that it is hard to argue that the actual and planned developments in Dubai are an indication of a desire to 'restrict' supply. Ergo - fundamentals will come home to roost. C...

Ian the government can control supply of land, after all all the land is owned by the sheikh/government of the respective emirate. So if Dubai had concerns about oversupply, they can just stop issuing land to the master developers (who in turn resell to the private developers). i think that was the...
