Shipping CDs, DVDs, Books... Jan 31, 2006
I hope that somone can give me some advice on shipping over CDs etc.. with our household goods when we move to Dubai in March.

I've heard conflicting stories - that CDs, DVDs and videos are confiscated for anything up to 6 months. I've also heard that they're okay if they're shipped with household goods and it's only if they're in your hand luggage that they're taken.

We've got quite a large collection and don't want to risk having them taken for any length of time!

I haven't been able to find any threads with a query like this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Well I brought tonnes of CD's and DVD's by Sky Cargo. At this end, it definately pays to be a girl at immigration and to wait patiently for the guy to come look at your stuff. All the blokes push and shove, but the guy saw me just waiting, came stright over, just asked what it was and signed it off, he never even opened the box to check anything.
