I made a website with virtual stars.
Every star represents someone special for you or someone who did something great you know of.
It's not a commercial site, but just a fun project to collect one million stars (started as educating myself to php/mysql).
Sofar I have people from the Netherlands, USA and Australia.

I would be very honoured if you'd create a star too and help me getting one million.

Submitted info is going into the database (MySQL) and twice a day a "crontab" is opening a php-page that takes care for putting the database info to html-pages.
This is necessary because if there are a million stars one day, it is not possible to retrieve the info in a fast way anymore.
Now it is solved in a way that you only see 300 stars a time/per page.
Everything was build with PHP, MYSQL, Html, css and javascript.
It took me 7,5month to program it, but I really learned a lot about PHP/MySQL and css

I used the word 'firetruck' in place of 'very', with the 'U' edited out. But it's in Fight Club now, let's not derail this thread any further.

Back to stars.... Nice concept. Should allow pictures to be posted alongwith the stars. That way you can have groups and what not.

Erik, I posted it. I don't know if people are responding because I asked that they post so as to keep it on top, but it keeps dropping, so I bump it up. You may ask people to send the site to all their contacts as they would definitely spread the word.
