There are lots of events planned, however the big issue is going to be one of availability of alcohol in bars and clubs. New Year co-incides with Eid this year and technically, its a 'dry' night. The questions are being asked and a decision is yet to be made by the powers that be.

I'm in Dubai for the start of the shopping festival, flying in from London with a few friends. Can anyone tell me where to go on News Years Eve as we specifically planned to come to Dubai for NYE and to see the New Year...any heads ups would be appreciated.

Cheers

Its gonna be difficult unless you are able to book somewhere in advance.

I heard that Eid will start on evening of 30 Dec, therefore we will have 31 Dec 06, 1 & 2 Jan 07 off!

Anybody else?
