Just wondered if anyone knows of any places in Dubai where u can get a tattoo, non-henna? Is it legal here and if not, are there any underground places to go to? Cheers,

Not sure if this is illegeal but i wouldnt reccomend going to an underground one if i was you mate, who knows what condition the needles are in ETC, you would be better off going to a proper legal registered place.

For me, it's not the sanitation problem.... because these artists are exercising sanitation stuffs...

for me its more on the question of their skills...

i believe you cant find one a registered one in dubai...

They do not give licences for tattoo's anymore, they did for a time. So for now it's illegal.

There are number of women who wears tatoos. And it very-very beautifully.

And it is not legal for now? :?

Exuse me please, could you explain difference beetween tattooing and tattoos ?

tattoos are the ones that you see... its the ink that you see in the flesh... tattooing- the act of making or drawing an art/portrait/image in ones body...

tattoos would be the product.... tattooing would be the service..

e.g> i have a tattoo - this is not illegal

i am a tattoo artist. i can make tattoo design for you for 300AED. - this is i llegal

Heard a really funny one last night on this topic.

Y'all have seen the chicks with some sort of tat on the rear, lower back, around the top of the pelvis ?

I found this article in an Islamic newspaper, and thought it may be useful. It explains why tattoo's are forbidden under Islam and why, for obvious reasons you wouldn't be able to legally have one done in any of the Gulf states..

The word tattoo is traced to the Tahitian, tatu or tatau, simply meaning to mark or to strike. A tattoo is a design or marking made by the insertion of a pigment into punctures or cuts to the skin. Tattoos are a type of body modification and this is not allowed in Islam.

Tattooing, in which the skin is pierced with a needle and a blue or other coloured dye is injected, is Haraam in all forms, whether it causes pain or not, because it involves changing the creation of Allah Taa'la, and because the Holy Prophet Hadhrat Muhammad- ur Rasullullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) cursed the one who does tattoos and the one for whom tattooing is done. In the same way, Shari'ah (Islamic laws) warns against Muslah (disfiguring) of the body, as well as "unnecessary intrusion, alteration and defacement of Allah Taa'la's creation".

The Holy Qur'an considers such alterations as inspired by (shaytaan) Satan, who "...will command them (his devotees) to change what Allah (Taa'la) has created..." (Holy Qur'an: An-Nisa': 119) The Holy Prophet Hadhrat Muhammad- ur Rasullullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) banned many cultural practices of the time. Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allah Anho) says that Hadhrat Muhammad- ur Rasullullaah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) forbade tattooing. (Al Bukhaari) However, there is some difference of opinion by the Ulama (Islamic scholars) as to the reason why tattoos are forbidden, although all are unanimous that it is Haraam.
