What are the options for a person to start investing who has just started earning?

Your investment options depend on the amount you have decided to invest. What is the amount that you are planning to invest? If you can save at least AED 500 a month then I will recommend you to invest in gold . As gold is the most profitable investment these days, investing in this area will be the best option.
