Info on Oman Travel via Al Ain Apr 19, 2009
Hi I am travelling to Oman (nizwa) via Al Ain and wanted to know if anyone has information on visa procedure at the border.

Where I can get exit stamp of UAE

and

Where I can get entry visa into Oman.

Can I do it specifically from Hafeet border checkpost?

Last time I went through that border was a while ago but it seemed straight forward (although slow moving queue). Like other border crossings with Oman, you stop at UAE checkpoint, get exit stamp on passport, go to Oman entry point, get visa. Somewhere in between you stop for a car search. Here's a detailed procedure of UAE to Oman border crossing (for Hatta but it should be similar for Hafeet).

Nizwa is a good spot for a visit. No beach though.

bonk,

Thanks a lot for the info. With your help and few friends got the below:

For the Al Ain crossing, the checkposts for both UAE and Oman are on Meyzad area.

UAE Al Ain 137th Road meets Oman Route 21.

GPS Coordinates:

Latitude: 24° 1'31.64"N
Longitude: 55°50'47.96"E

For GCC residents with good designation (not low) take exit stamp and small receipt for the car (20 Dhs service charge per car), from UAE checkpost proceed couple of kms to Oman checkpost get entry visa by paying 30Dhs per person.

Will confirm on the above when Im back on the 26th.
