I'm thinking it's done for our benefit so we know who wrote the post in case we forgot to look at the screen name of the member.

What other possible reasons could a poster have for ending each and every post they make with their name?

Been doing it since post no.1 back in the days when pterodactyls ruled the skies.

But I only use the abbreviated 'Knight' on account of the fact I am bloody lazy!

My excuse is I've been doing it since I was a number on compuserve (I remember the thrill when I got a 14kbs modem - an upgrade from the 9kbs one I was using!)
