Any clubs looking for a dj?

Hi everyone, maybe someone can help me? I'm coming to Dubai for work shortly, and wouldn't mind DJ'n while I'm out here. I've been DJ'n for almost 7 years in Toronto, am well connected in the Toronto scene, and still play regularly (the dayjob makes it hard to keep up) here. I spin current R&B/H...

You have to take a minimum of 36 lessons at Belhasa DJ School

Your sarcasm isn't exactly welcome here. But your insight would be helpful, so if you do have a real answer, please share. Thanks.

ahh, sorry, let me clarify. I'm actually coming to Dubai already. The DJ stuff is something I do out of love, and I think it would be a great way to meet people and see what Dubai is at night. As for the mix, thank you for the feedback. It's an old mix, but gives a quick idea of what I can do. Thank...

Since Dubai is generally filled with expats, the incidents of people leaving before the end of a lease is high.

Landlords want a years worth of rent to avoid issues surrounding those who simply flee.

It's just to protect their interests.

Depends on what you need to do with the money. If you need to transfer it to another account somewhere in the world, I would choose HSBC simply because their international money transfers between HSBC accounts worldwide is a lot cheaper. Otherwise, go read the websites and see what the differences a...

Has anyone else noticed that Etisalat is not allowing HTTPS traffic to go through? Everything from MSN, to logging into Hotmail, to logging into GMail via HTTPS is not working.

Beach Volleyball?

I woke up this morning to a beautiful sunlit sky, and cool weather with no wind. First thing that came to mind was: BEACH VOLLEYBALL! Can someone direct me to where in Dubai some beach volleyball courts are? Anyone on DF interested in meeting up and playing some pickup games? All are welcome, and ev...

Questions now: - What annual salary should I expect from a good offer? (without housing / car allowances). 50%+ above what you're getting now. The kicker however is that there is no income tax. If you're coming from Canada, I would strongly encourage you to seek out offshore banking options. Google ...

...you didn't miss much. THE GOOD: DJ's in the main room were on point. Clean mixes, good selection of oldies and current commercial bangers. I got there at 11PM and there was a buzz in the crowd. You need to define "central" dubai better. Better yet, find out where your offices are, and post it here. Dubai is a complex quilt of hotspots, with the passages between each hotspot being very congested. 3500 dirhams/month for rent will probably get you a room in a shared villa where you ...

it's a crappy deal.

I wouldn't take it, and here's why: 15,000AED/mth = ~$4800CDN/mth. ~$4800CDN/mth x 12 = $57600CDN/yr $57600CDN/yr taxfree = ~$78k/yr CDN with taxes (57.6k * 1.35) Rent in Dubai is ridiculous, you can easily kiss 10kAED/mth goodbye to rent. Education for your children is expensive. If you want to sen...

Japanese Groceries?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a Japanese grocery store in Dubai? I know where the korean grocery store is, but I wouldn't mind hitting up the Japanese one if such a thing exists here.

Specifically, I'm looking for Soba Noodle soup base.

Any guidance would be great, thanks!

Jumeirah Beach Hotel - Beach Volleyball?

I heard a radio ad for this, saying that the Jumeirah Beach hotel has courts available with pickup games. I was surprised to hear such an ad on Radio 1 to be honest.
