Haaretz editorial:

Shalit deal signals return of the will of the people

The fact that Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to sign the Shalit swap deal, a contradiction of his stated worldview, indicates that while the hand that signed the deal was indeed the PM's, the strings were pulled by the Israeli public.

Good to see the will of the people of Israel was done and so many families are happy to be reunited with loved ones. ;)

Cheers,

Ahlam Tamimi, sentenced to 16 life sentences for her involvement in the "Sbarro" suicide bombing on 9 August 2001 in Jerusalem, says she had no regrets and stressed she would, given the opportunity, do it again.

"It was a calculated act, performed with conviction and faith in Allah," Tamini said in an interview posted on the Hamas website. "Jihad warriors are always ready to die as martyrs, to be arrested - or to succeed. I managed to overcome the barrier of prison and was released. Why should I repent?"

The Sbarro attack resulted 130 wounded and 15 killed.

Also population centers Rehovot and Ashdod were atacked by rockets this week from Gaza. Hardly news.

I wonder if she was that mouthy while in prison? I seriously doubt it. That's cowards for you

I've just read in the Gulf News about an attraction of fantastic generosity. I mean cash reward $1 million "to anyone who captures an Israeli soldier to swap him for Palestinian prisoners".

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/mid ... story.html

So the golden rush have just started. Once upon a time, Joseph Stalin has rejected an offer for an exchange some German field-marshal for the Russian private, who happend to be Stalin's own son. Nataniahu agreed in the similar situation.

The time will show who was right.

I can't imagine what the Israelis were thinking about when they agreed to this unreasonable prison swap.
