i tried it on a symantec 200/400 series. Wont work out.
Even if you did, you know how slow it is going to be.

If you have a cisco 2x00 series may be you should try adding routing.

there is only 1 & only 1 problem if u consider it overall. We are simply going through etisalat gateway/proxy..only if we had an option of using some other gateway.

has ny1 tried using new.net with skype/vonage..??

Amamed,
Are you saying a VPN router will not work??? When my husband goes to the states, he can bring one back and we can try it..... Is this wishful thinking, or a reality??? What do you think?

i have a symantec VPN Router 200/400 series. I did try over it. Did not work on it.

This is the host : 69.1.229.81 , it pings but cannot access 5060-5069 ports.

Trace route .. and it passes through 3 etisalat gateways ??
Tried routing table on cisco router, it works for a direct connection if you are ssl tunneling.

Any alternative ?

Oh btw .. this is my spelling : A H A M E D

As of yet, there is no alternative for vonage.

For me it worked 4 - 5 months back, but then i got my service disconnected.

Why dont you give a try on VPN Router..or perhaps speak to vonage guys for any support over this ?

dubai girl ... do you or your husband work for a US based company ? because what you can do is get VPN connectivity from them and make sure they have the vonage ports open .. then you can connect to vonage.

good luck

Maad,
He does work for US based company. Will tell him and have the computer people help us out to see if that would work. Thanks for the suggestion. I think when we first moved here my hubby was having trouble connecting in our villa (Meadows 5 DIC) due to the security on the company system. Had a specialist come out and try to do some magic. I'll check into it and see what they can do. Will update you on this.
Thanks for the tip!

Most probably this is the scenario :

He must have setup some virtual host that redirects requests to the vonage servers @ a different Incoming UDP Port.

i.e myvon.dyndnssample.com:5060 to vonageservers.com

From his device or UA, he must be connecting to vonage through the redirected virtual host...

i.e UA/PAP2 = myvon.dyndsnsample.com:5060

now what do you think ? will it work ?

Oh btw.. on some subnets all censored sites are unblocked. a friend of mine recently connected to somebody's wifi in the area and he could open all the censored p0rn sites..

guess he might be using some sort of gateway or a route perhaps..

so the conclusion is some of etisalats subnets/host ranges are still unblocked..

ny1 visited www.much.net ?
