moving to dubai. Question on salary package Jun 24, 2008
Hi, My husband's just been offered a director-level position with a company in dubai. Monthly salary is AED 48,000 plus medical benefits, flights home (once a year) for both of us and relocation costs. Rent and car allowance (we'd probably get a used car) is included in the 48k.

1) Does the salary sound right for a young couple without kids? Ofcourse, we'd like to save but we also want to make the most of life - party, travel, eat out, have a nice car etc.

2) I'm looking at villas in springs, greens or arabian ranches. How realistic is it to expect to get something for upto AED 200,000 p/a in these areas? We must get a villa as we have two dogs and I believe apartment complexes in Dubai do not allow dogs?

I look forward to hearing from you.

thats a fair amount to lead a good life in dubai

You need to make sure the complex that you chose allows pets. There have been a couple of issues recently about certain residential complexes that do not allow pets

All the best
