Hi

Do you need a UK driving license in UAE (Dubai) or do you apply for a driving license once you arrive there.

I hold a UK driving license just wondering what the procedure is, what documentation do i need. Do you have to have a international one.

Just wondering if i have to apply for a international one before i move out in 4 weeks time?

All this is new to me so any help would be great

This has been talked about before. As a UK licence holder there is no recognition of an "international DL". This is only relevant to enable a confirmation from a country of issue that is not recognised by the Dubai Police Dept. The international DL is not a licence you can actually drive on, it is merely a conformation the the holder does have a DL of their own country.

You will be able to get a UAE DL after your residency has been granted, it is then merely a technicallity
