Actually the remaining crane is quite simple to remove as they are self de-mounting and not all the way to the ground.

It will remain Burj Dubai because the building is in Dubai and Burj translated from Arabic means "Tower"

If you consider that AD has about 900 billion dollars in their Sovereign Wealth Fund, it can easily buy out Dubai's debt AND own literally everything for lets say $150 maybe $200 billion... (just guessing Dubai's worth here)

AD will probably buyout Dubai Financial Markets district and eliminate competition for its own Financial district in AD that will be ready in 2014, as planned.

Big Bro AD is gonna exert huge influence, thats for sure.

Brilliant Rob. As usual ur analysis is spot on.

So Sage you constantly keep picking on Rob and his lack of experience? Well you gotta admit his analysis was spot on, while you despite living here totally failed in comprehension.

humm should I take robbyg analysis or the fact that the president approved the 10 billion while walking toward his airplane going to the GCC summit !

robbyg, you got to understand the complicity of the united country and the history of the emirates, it's not always about money, maybe to you but not the guys you are talking about.

But I'm wondering why you guys refer to Dubai as an isolated place rather than a UAE ? you know like one you refer to any other country when you analysis its economy.

Only then robbyG you will figure out how silly your words are when you are saying that a country is buying it self !! but you can always try and good luck on that.

I understand what a city-state is and what a federation of states (call it a country if you like) entices. And debt is still liability backed by real assets.
Point I made (months ago b.t.w) is that assets on a soil are owner tranferrable. Just as Dubai gave up Burj Dubai to Burj Khalifa (name change). It doesn't matter how the agreement was settled behind the curtains.

In this world, you don't get stuff for free. Everything has its price. Be it emotionally priced or in hard commodities or simply paper currency.

You sound silly today matey. :drunken:
