Greetings all DFites.

I am a social anthropologist from the U.S., currently teaching at American University in Cairo - well, currently not teaching as I am on sabbatical here in Dubai undertaking some research. Thus, I am hoping some of you might be willing to share some of your own insights, experiences and perceptions on life in Dubai.

In brief, the research is on the making of Dubai as a global city and how it fulfills, or doesn't, our personal hopes and desires. While I am particularly interested in chatting with any South Asians out there, I would very much appreciate the opportunity of chatting and/or meeting with people from different places to gain as much insight into different perspectives on life here.
