Middle East Dec 01, 2006
We heard it many times about asians being discriminated etc etc.

If we are going to take a look at the world map, Middle East is situated where Africa, Asia and Europe meet.

Which continent of the world do Middle East countries belong? Are citizens of the Arab countries aware about the continent where they belong?

Let's face facts and apply some rationalities.

I don't give about that. Actually I get annoyed when Iraq sometimes is in
Middle East, and then on the other hand in another book it's in so called
Asia. It's the same with Middle East, sometimes it is in Africa, sometimes it's
in Asia, or both, or even Europa o_O!

It would be so much easier if an Arabic continent existed and then make the
Arabic world to one country (here comes my little pan-Arabic side <3).

depends which country specifically, UAE yes, Egypt no, that would be in Africa.

Middle East is a region that happens to span 2 continents.

Egypt is an arabic speaking country but not part of the middle east and thus belong to africa.

Your argument is Mid East - GCC countries & the like (except some bordering countries such as armenia, cyprus and etc) - is part of the asia particularly in the west side and thus part of the asian continent.

Are these people aware about this fact?

Technically I think it falls in Asia, however, the Middle East should be declared as a seperate continent in my view! That'd be sooo cool! I suppose unofficially it is :D

Middle East is a colonial eurocentric name given to the region after world war II. The name of th region has always been referred to in scientific books the Near East.
