They will not lift a finger to stop this...however, turn right LEGALLY at the exit to Al Khail Road onto Emirates Road, and there is a cop car sitting at the junction taking numbers and racking up 200Dhs fines for everyone. Average take from 1 site per day: 70,000Dhs!!

The problem is, the RTA have not bothered to move the road signs or paint the road when they changed the junction. But this is not the cops fault, so they just keep fining people!

Of course they will! The general public has shown it's outrage, the authorities have to act or face looking like a laughing stock.

I think they only confiscated the vehicles and fined them.

Like the locals in question give a damn? they probably have another 3 or 4 cars parked outside and lose more than the fine in the linings of their dish dash every day!

Turns out that these guys were part of a celebration parade which was organised by the Dubai police.

They were performing these stunts in a controlled environment amongst their peers.

The only people at risk were their fellow Al Wasl club fans...
who probably couldn't care less if the guy on 2 wheels was doing this with no seat belt on, whilst talking on his mobile phone, with a 3yo kid jumping around in the front seat.

Yes as you can see in one of my earlier spost earlier I also got caught up in this. Wheter the same group or not I dont know, but could be as it was later in th eevening and on th eway to Abu Dhabi and it was under police escort. With the Police blocking all lanes up front while crawling at 80 on a 6 lane highway and swarm of cars in the wake

But still a very poor choice of time and venue. I'm sure there were better places for this display.

No thank god no ! . I was headed to home in the gardens in jebel ali. BTW I encountered this group on Emirates road and not SZR. I got caught as I caught the Emirates rd on the dragon mart turn off. If only I was a little faster I could have merged ahead of th epolice escort ! I stopped at the Emiates gas station just before th eold Arabian Rances R/A to let this crap pass.

Yeah, not a very smart place to have a parade... on a 10km stretch of highway with no exits for the unfortunate bastards stuck behind it.
