I am a newbie to the forum, but I have been reading and researching on here for a few months.
I have recently accepted a job with a company based in Dubai & Sharjah and I am awaiting contracts to sign, however one of the guys working for the company has indicated that since October he has not been paid on the original date his salary was due (5th), but actually 3 to 4 weeks later, so in affect he is owed 1 month salary, this has not been brought up-to-date since.
My question is - does this happen often in the UAE? or is there an under lying problem with this company given the current global climate?
I am uncertain to sign the contracts, move lock stock to the UAE then find I am not getting paid on a regular basis, this would financially affect me as I will need to send approx 8000AED per month home to cover bills, mortgage shortfall etc. Any advice would be gratefully received.
