Thanks Arnie (aka Mr. RE :) )

Unfortunatly I do not know those particular individuals.

I agree the AR are quite far.... Thats a severe negative for me becuase I like going to the malls and to restaurants and shisha. There is a community centre there but it is limited in size. Though there is a cute little Shisha place (Al Arrab Restaurant).

Oh well, its only a rental. If it does prove to be too far I can always move out in a year... :)

On the plus, the price I got is good for Dubai RE market rentals for villas, espeicaly when you consider that I am giving more than the paltry one or two cheques most people have to dish out.... :D I really like the area, building styles, the quietness of it all, seeing the stars at night and being in the middle of the Arabian Desert (in a sense)... :)

I totally agree with your perception of AR Liban. MY gut feeling is that is is well "up market", with definately no Riff Raff. Probably quiet and the sort of place where people do mind their own business. Its propably not going to be a "community place".

But like you said, as its so way out, the night sky view will be mmmmmmm, its far enough away from the "city lights".

But also like you said it is a fair old trip into town and for shopping.

Turner and Bovey are 2 naff C' Class Celebs in UK. She was married to a very well know Radio DJ Peter Powell.

woah arnie, don't be too generous with their celebrity ranking!

Do taxis etc go to AR, or is it considered too far out? Am thinking after a night out, will it prove tricky getting home.

I have had enough of the "sorry guv, not going south of the river at this time of night" response from London cabbies!

ohhhhhhhhhh ok RK thyy are on the E' list, i was being over generous i agree.

Red, it aint like London mate, a taxi driver would jump through hoops for a trip out to Arabian Ranches.

And you will be so surprised how cheap they are in compariison to London.

A taxi costs 50 dings from Sheik Zayed road (Wafi).
Arabian Ranches is very good for families and children. I would not reccomend it for single people who want to be close to the action. There is a community feel, but it is of the neighborhood watch variety. I wouldn't go as far as saying that it is up-market, but there seems to be a lot of westerners in Arabian Ranches if that is any indication.

Well Arnie has good reasons to call it upmarket - he owns properties there (I am sure as he's into real estate in Dubai too).

I think the Arabian Ranches are a great place for BOTH families and singles. The properties are stylish, spacious and to a degree, a little bit exclusive.
If you have the cash to splash out on taxis after a night out then no problem.
Also, its not that far at all to commute to DIC or DMC in reality, so a good location too.

Apparently the Utilities are huge though especially the A/C bills in the summer!
