Swine Flu Outbreak!!! Apr 26, 2009
Do you think there will be a major outbreak of swine flu all around the world or not?
There are already more than 1000 people infected with it in Mexico, killed dozens there, and around 100 are infected in the US.
It can be easily spread from one person to another, and symptoms are similar to normal flu.

The CDC of the US has already stated that it is so widespread and is not possible to contain so this could be pretty bad. Seems like the biggest difference between this and Bird Flu is that this one is easily transferrable from person to person.

This is scary. No crowds, no kissing/hugging, carry hand sanitizer, masks, and consume lots of vitamin C.

Yes it's very possible that it could just be a new panic caused by the media.

SARS was pretty serious. The reason it didn't end up as bad as it could have was because proper measures were eventually taken. Even so, a few hundred people (not to mention millions of birds) died.

There's no need to panic just yet though. Even at the height of the bird flu scare, I didn't hesitate to fly to Southeast Asia.

Just like with SARS and with H5N1 Bird flu, the eventual results are dead people. I think a lot of infections together with dead people are, well to say the least, a reason to get some media attention and get some regulatory bells ringin'!!!

I wonder what castle tower you are being held in. My god, they say ignorance is bliss....

Definitely SARS was serious, and H5N1 and swine flu have the potential to be devastating if proper precautions and protocols aren't followed. Luckily because of SARS and H5N1 governments have good action plans. Still, all you need one day is the right mutation of the virus and it can spread faster than it can be controlled. A good reality check for humans who don't believe they could be subjected to a population controlling diseases like what happens to animals in the rest of the animal kingdom...

Only precautions they gave was to cover your nose and mouth while sneezing and coughing and to wash your hands regulary. And to also avoid public places if you have flu symptoms...Don't know how much effective these are.

Just read they are in alarmphase 3 now.
Public bars and restaurants in Mexico are being closed by authorities.
People walk the streets with mouth covers.

Hospitals are given the predicament: free of infection and can be used acordingly.

Experts think this must not be considered lightly since it could trigger a worldwide H5N1 (Swine Flu, not to be mistaken by H1N5 bird flu) pandemic.

Europe is still free of single cases, except for three contained French people. And one Brit I suppose it was.

They're advising people sick with flu not to come to hospitals. That the doctors will come to their house and would treat them there.

This article shows the difference between swine flu and SARS or avian flu. It says the disease would..."skip from city to city over an 18 to 24 month period"!!! Hope it's not true.

A piece of meat can't get a cold, Porter!

Its the creature behind it that can get infected. Nottin' to worry about.
Just lock all doors, seal with tape, close the windows and dive in the cellar for 6 months and yuo'll be fine.

Make sure you buy food in advance
A drop of water can't kill you either....although

There's another REALLY bad animal infection scare coming, it looks like. Started in Netherlands I think, but it has spread and is spreading , and the UK is in hushup and denial mode about it. A guy in the UK has been investigating for some years, he doesn't sound like a crank either:

From Pat Gardiner in Felixstowe

The story I have been working on every day for the past NINE years is
finally breaking, mostly in the US, where I'm in touch now and getting
some support from journalists, scientists and lawyers working in the
same area.

To put it simply, I'm exposing the source of the superbugs plaguing
our hospitals. Funny thing life, I never expected to do anything so
important or unexpected.

You gave me a crucial helping hand a couple of times, so this is
a tip that the story will break. It has big implications obviously
for insurance but also aviation and the cruise business as you can
see. The Class Action Lawyers are gathering across the pond (means the USA).

Put "st398" into google
