Is there anywhere in Dubai that you can find out what price you should expect to pay or advertise a car for or is it down to blind luck? For example have seen a VW Tourano for 92000 but it is 4 years old and it seems a little high to me. Any ideas?

Go to the Al Awir car market to get an idea (but assume everything there is dodgy).

Look in Gulf News ads.

Find out new car price and depreciate 30% for first year, 20% each year after that. Modify depending on brand. Japanese and Mercedes depreciate less, American depreciate more.

Car do NOT depreciate the way you explained,..

It depends on the car, some cars depreciate 10% in 2 years, depends on what car it is.

I agree with the American depreciates more and japanese less..

It was a generalisation.

very very few cars depreciate 10% over 2 years

as a general rule take 20% off the sale price as soon as you drive the car away from the dealer, bonks generalisation is not far off.
