i am going to send all the papers to 7 days... maybe they will do a story on dubai property-thugs :D There was a story in Gulf News 2 months ago, about extra charges, since a lot of people complained. Not that it made the charges disappear. Be aware though that some agents add on their own BS "...

When I deal with government departments, it usually wastes my whole day. I am wondering how people who work regular jobs get out to do official stuff. Are your bosses that lenient? At least many deps are now open on Saturdays for people who might be free on that day.

Good luck. I am currently being jerked around the DEWA head office trying to get my security deposit back. They made a completely inaccurate final bill for me, and no one wants to take responsibility.

Do companies here really go to court to enforce these clauses. To me, most companies here appear to be terribly lazy and stingy. I know people who jump from company to company (some even NMC), taking client contacts with them, and I keep asking why the hell they aren't banned yet. When I mention thi...

Buying a freehold property entitles you to a residence visa, renewable every 3 years for the next 99 years. However, the property has to be complete and not under construction to receive the visa. On top of all this, you cannot work on that visa. Once you get work, you have to transfer to the compan...

Tatweer actually built the hoarding... they were always going to cut the trees down. Unfortunate, but I guess one could say easily compensated by the number of trees they will be installing in Dubailand. Of course, most people fail to see the big picture on that one. I think that's the illegal way of doing it? I have to get it down from the flat too. I have no idea if it's illegal or not. Else call those second hand or appliance maintenance shops, they'd be happy to collect. At least they can use some parts. I'm thinking of that. The problem is the last place I...

It might be worthwhile to sell the car. Volvo parts are hard to come by here. The dealer is killer and I've never come across any non-official Volvo parts supplier here. And forget about finding scrap Volvos here. It could cost you more to keep it running here.
