Attention Dxbsoul and others willing to help

Hi, I just accepted an offer from a retail group as a marketing executive and they have given me 2 options: 1. Be placed as an office clerk for an entire year. The salary, benefits, and everything else will be the same. Only difference is that it will state this designation on my visa 2. Wait until ...

Hi Dxbsoul, Thanks for your quick answer. To answer your question the company employs over 4500 employees. I have already spoken to them and agreed to proceed with this action as I was informed from a friend that he will be willing to help me switch it to the right designation after I receive my att...

You have another option: 2. Go to the department of naturalization and residency and renew it once for a cost of 650 AED. You visa will only be renewed for 30 days. Rather than paying the 650 for renewal, you can travel somewhere in the middle east for the same cost through al jazeera or air arabia....

Hi, I believe you need a little more than 1 month to look for a job. Give yourself at least 2 months. Make sure you find yourself a good recruitment agency as they can help immensely. The best option would be to stay in Sharjah as it's the cheapest. Allowing you to stay longer if you wish. In terms ...

Yep that's the process. The best thing you can do is have your degree attested before coming as employers often prefer those that have degrees attested even if you are more qualified for a certain position.

To make your life much easier and to ease tabulation, put your questions on surveymonkey (google search)

Just give respondents the link and they will easily complete the survey.

FA will forward your degree to UAE embassy. Include a return envelop so that the embassy can send back your degree. I am still waiting on FA to forward my degree to the embassy and its been over a month! You have no other option but to do it this way unless a new law is enforced and changes everythi...

Real Estate in 2008 - Good Time to Buy?

Hi all, I have a few questions regarding buying real estate in Dubai: 1. Is now a good time to buy? I've been reading mixed reviews lately. Will I be getting a good ROI in say 5 years time? 2. Do any banks offer mortgages with 0% deposit rate? 3. If I do indeed decide to buy, and say the apartment w...

Thanks arnie and everyone for your frank responses.

I think at this point I will wait it out for at least a year. Hopefully by then I will find something worth investing into.

Actually in reference to the metro, labourers and maids will not be able to afford it as they have set premium prices to ease traffic from lower wage workers.

I've read that the estimated decrease in traffic after the arrival of the metro will be around 17%.

Actually the embassy does not require your transcripts. They can simply call the school and verify that you are indeed a graduate. If you call your university they will be able to speed up the process. Depending how lazy the school is, this alone can take up to 2 weeks! Anyways my degree has finally...

Yes the final is step is done at the ministry of FA. I am not sure whether they only accept originals or copies. Call to check.

Another member posted the new address of FA in a previous post not too long ago.

Working at Al Tayer Group

Hi all,

Anyone ever worked with Al Tayer Group. All I know is that the company has a very good presence here in the UAE, but I want to hear from someone first-hand what it likes working there. Any tips and comments will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)

Chocoholic,

I will be working in the F&B division. As for withholding the passports, I knew about this beforehand and they told me they are now not doing this anymore.

I would suggest you call them to schedule an interview with the recruitment consultant. If they feel you are a good fit, then they will forward your resume to the company. You should be very confident in the interview and make an excellent impression as this will dictate whether they will work hard ...

Chocoholic the only reason these celebrations were canceled is because we are now in a time of mourning for the Palestinian people. You have to remember that as much as Dubai is liberal and touristic, the UAE still remains a Muslim country, no matter what else is going on! I have seen your other pos...

Newsflash: we can do just fine without you. You know it really is true when they say only the western scumbags come here, those that were rejected back home. The last few posts have just proved that. I know for a fact that not all of you are like this, only a small few. The problem is partly ours as...
