NEW RELATIONSHIP Oct 18, 2006
How much information about your past relationships do you think you should tell your partner in the first few months of a relationship. Dating someone and he wants to know every single liasion I've ever had a what it was all about, going back over 10 years. Is this normal behaviour are just part of getting to know someone.

I believe its perfectly normal for your partner to be courious and ask stuff about your past. But it shouldnt be annoying. Too much of anything aint healthy.

What he wants you to write a list? Forget it.

Edit: I would take this as an early warning sign of jealous and possessiveness.

Ian that's sooo negative. Is it bad to know the person from inside and out? It could also be a sign that he/she is very interested about the other and just wants to understand/know him in every single view. :?

No, this fella found out all about me before he met me, and has effectively been waiting for me to tell him/confirm everything he's found out during this time, from a five week fling last year to a fling some 10 years ago, which I don't like to talk about. It's got to make or break stage. He says that I'm not being truthful and effectively lieing to him by not telling all. He's been cheated on a few times in the past.

That would explain it then, he's distrustful from the word go - not a good situation to be in, if he's like this already, he may never be able to trust anyone fully.

You shouldn't be pressured into giving him all the details of your previous relationships, the important ones maybe, but flings, there's no need to know.

Remind him that just because another girl cheated on him, doesn't give him the right to assume that you will do the same.

no matter how much someone asks you bout the past ... they dont really wanna know bout it .. all they wanna know is bout themselves in ur future ...

so whenever u r asked that question just pretend like u didnt hear it an talk bout them an yourself an the life ahead ..

belive me thats the best way to deal with past questions

if he insists still then just tell him

" forget about my past misery .. lets you an i start our own new history"

then hook him up with alittle somethin sumtin  an he'll never ask again

The question is can they handle the truth? In this case, I doubt it.

Best let them go now before they start reading your email and sms.

question...
will she be able to handle the truth?
no matter what, she wont be able to handle the truth. she would start to compare.
they wanna know about the past, but they want to make sure about the future....
