Salary deductions / what's important when negotiating salary Jul 01, 2006
Hi there,

I have been offered a job in Dubai. My questions are:

- there is no personal tax but are there any other salary deductions on salaries in UAE (social insurance, health insurance etc.) or the gross salary equals to net?

- what's important when negotiating the package? Should I bid for accommodation in the first place or company car? From the information on Internet pages on UAE, my impression is that the main cost of living is exactly accommodation...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
pepinho

Sometimes, depends on the company.

Expat packages will usually include accommodation or an allowance. If an allowance, it's usually not enough depending on what you want for accommodation.

Whatever you negotiate, get it in writing.
