Hi!

Already in Dubai! Very busy settling in with a toddler and a bump!

Wanted to know if someone knows how can I hire a car and a driver for a day. I need to go and check out some nurseries. I know I could take a taxi, but I am afraid it would be tough to get one from a not very crowded street, or is it easy to just order a cab from the nursery? It would be more convenient for me to have a taxi all day to take me to a place and wait for me. How much should I expect to pay?

in the past i have hired a taxi for 1/2 day, dependant on the distance it was anything upto 250Dhs.

Most taxi drivers will jump through hoops for that sort of money. you can pay a waiting charge which is quuite cheap or tell them to turn the meter off. I used to depending on whether he was helpful etc.

Julieta, the guy I use does all day bookings as well. He's curteous, doesn't smell and his english is pretty good. He also drives safely - which is a major thing for and especially with the way people drive here, as I hate not being in control of my own life.
