Who drives a black Cayenne plate no I 70036 ??
Offences as follows:
1) threw litter outside of her car while stopping at the traffic light
2) charged out from a T junction, potentially causing accident to on going traffic
3) spoke on the mobile phone within hands free
4) turn without signalling - twice

All the above within a span of 10 minutes.

Tsk tsk ...

It was meeeeeeee. I drive a Cayenne and I "paid" for my license, so I am untouchable. I even have a make-up kit in my car.

You mean without?

But what really annoyed you? About half the drivers I see on the road do all those things - often all at the same time, along with one foot out the window (well, maybe not the women), the other adjusting the DVD player, one handing holding the kid on their lap who is steering the car, and the other hand holding the newspaper they're trying to read

You are right. Talking on mobile, carrying their babies etc are common here. However, its my first to see someone throwing rubbish out of their car !!

Are you a complete retard by any chance? Seriously, littering is a crime, talking on the handpiece while driving is a crime and failing to indicate when turning or changing lanes is a crime.

No wonder the roads are so freaking dangerous here.

Just ram 'em ! That'll stop the littering, abrupt end to the phone chat and hopefully indication drought too.

Oh no...... there goes my "peace out" wishes, dammmmit !

I just keep repeating "there are lots of great, polite, sensible drivers here" and try to manifest it............. *sigh*........

Mindyoo, I'm gonna put bubble wrap around concrete bumpers for the next year and bollox to the rubbish drivers heheheheheheh

You dont need to be a British (or any national for this matter). Its general / common knowledge that all the above are illegal. I have 4 driving licences. Even RTA here will tell you driving without handsfree is illegal.

Where did you get your license? Or don't you have one??

I am not an environmentalist and this is not my birth country. But Dubai is a clean city. You dont see rubbish by the road side - yet!

Its frustrating to see inconsiderate people (who drives an expensive car) throwing rubbish out of their car. Why doesnt she throw rubbish in her own car, in her own back yard, in her own lounge?
Selfish act = lack of mannerism = ugly personality (regardless of how pretty you look or how rich you are)

It came free in a packet of CornFlakes!

Irony: I flicked a cigarette butt out of the window in a traffic jam in Sharjah and had some cop tell me he could have fined me 500Dhs for it...whilst telling me, the guy in the car in front offloaded a whole bag of old McDonalds wrappers and crap out his window!

Did the copper have a go at him? Nah! He was driving a Sharjah licenced Range Rover with blinged up wheels and blacked out windows and a 3 digit registration number!

Happy New Year!

Jeez

its getting as bad as UK, last year a female driver got prosecuted for eating a Snickers whilst stoped at a red light.

Here its called "undue care and attention" and the basis of the prosecution was she did not have both her hands on the steering wheel and was therefore not deemed to be "in control of her car".

This rule also applies to using mobiles.

And.................... i recently got my first fine in 3 years. Snapped at 160 on the Hatta Road :(

Those stupid looking fake camera's are obviously "cleverly diguised stupid looking fake camera's"

I always feel so guilty when I think about taking the "when in Rome" attitude and think about throwing litter out of my car after seeing a local do it. But I can never bring myself to do it because I never have and I never will. Apart from the fact that it is illegal.
In fairness, previous generations of other countries also did it until they were persuaded not to by the governments. Its simply an education problem.
But there is no excuse for not using an indicator when you are taught to do it during your driving lessons and have to do it to pass the driving test. This displays a basic lack of respect for other drivers.
The other 2 points are subject to context and may have been OK at the time.

I blasted a co-worker in Saudi who was always throwing his litter out of the window. He explained it in true Saudi style:

"By doing this, I am creating a job for the man who has to come and pick it up! If I did not throw out my rubbish, he would starve!"

It is still an eyesore although it has improved here over the last few years. One trip to the industrial zone of Sharjah will make anyone with a tidyness fetish crawl!

I still can't work out why I don't do it.
It must be because I respect the locals... but I don't know why I do that either. ARRRRRH
