It was the French who I think we'll let a mosque be built when we see a church in Saudi Arabia?

If the rules are clear and spelt out then whats the problem. In the west you have to remove crash helmets etc when going into shops etc so whats big deal.

In france it stands by its "Liberty, equality, fraternity" and so as always you should respect the culture of the country.

What's the big deal??? Here in the UAE we are basically told what we CAN'T wear and what we CAN'T do.

Besides full cover is a choice - it is not a religious mandate. In Saudi Arabia ALL women MUST cover with the exception of their face or face arrest - and that includes non-Muslim women!! It is also not permissable for women to be in the company of men unless it is a husband, father, son, or close blood family relative. And we all know that women - nationals and expats, by law, are forbidden to drive. There are many expats in Saudi Arabia, all of whom must abide by the laws.

Very true.. A couple can't check into a hotel unless they are married as well (legally that is).
