Abu Dhabi get a Grand Prix Feb 03, 2007
See Abu Dhabi has got an F1 grand prix starting 2009. I know Mubadala have links to Ferrari, but would have thought it would be more sensible to have in Dubai, there's more hotels/ infrastructure here to support bigger events. Good news for the UAE though.

Are you sure they got it? When I was in Abu Dhabi today for the F1 demos the announcers were talking about it as "it would be nice to get" not have.

Hope you're right though, it'd be great for the UAE.

With the building of Ferrari World and the like I thought it possible, definitely true (although there are people on here who believe that the BBC can't be a trusted source!)

Dubai went head to head with Bahrain sometime ago...and Bahrain won the honor with better facilities. Would be interesting to have F1 Abu Dhabi circuit in the calendar

Dubai burnt their bridges when Sheikh Maktoum decided to start the A1 grand prix, which was in direct competition with F1.

Great for the UAE though and hopefully Abu Dhabi can put on a good show.
