The State Bank of India on Town Hall Rd cashes American Express and Thomas Cook traveler’s cheques but doesn’t handle cards. Canara Bank on Round South can handle cash advances on Visa cards. Email is available (sometimes) at IRS Computers & Communications.

Nadavaramba Metal Emporium on Round West is one of the best Thrissur shopping places also Kerala State Handicraft Apex Society also on Round West. It`s open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 7.30 pm

Closest Airport from Thrissur is Cochin International Airport which is at a distance of 45 km. Taxis are available to bring you to Thrissur.

Trains to Ernakulam, 74 km south by rail, take about 1 ½ hours; trains to Kozhikode, 143 km north, take about three hours. There are also several trains running to or through Palakkad via Shoranur. The train station is 1 km south-west of the town centre..

Here are three bus stands in Thrissur: the KSRTC and Sakthan Tampuran stands in the south; and the Priyadarshini (also referred to as North) stand in the north.

Regular KSRTC buses go to Thiruvananthapuram ( 7 ½ hours), Ernakulam ( two hours), Kozhikode (3 ½ hours) and Palakkad (1 ½ hours). There are also buses to Ponnani, Kottayam and Perumpavoor (for connections to Munnar).

The Sakthan Tampuran stand has buses bound for closer towns such bs Kodungallor, Irinjalakuda and Guruvayur (one hour). The smaller, private Priyadarshini bus stand has many buses bound for Shoranur and Palakkad ( two hours), Pollachi and Coimbatore.
