Cambridge-educated looking for engineering job in Dubai Jun 26, 2006
Assalamuhalaikoum,

My name is Sajjid. I am from Mauritius. I'm looking for an engineering job in Dubai, commensurate with my qualifications which are as below:

October 2002 – January 2004
MSc Advanced Photonics and Communication, School of Engineering, University of Warwick (UK).

October 1999 – July 2002
BA Electrical and Information Science Engineering, Jesus College, University of Cambridge (UK).

November 1998
Cambridge Higher School Certificate – 4th Laureate Science Side.

November 1995
Cambridge School Certificate – Aggregate 6, 2nd in Physics and 3rd in Chemistry at National Level.

One of the reasons I am job seeking in Dubai is because being a practising muslim, I believe I will be able to find much more religious liberty in Dubai with respect to islam, unlike in most of the other western (amongst other regions) countries, unfortunately. I also have one or two Mauritian friends who have applied and taken employment in Dubai.

I have received excellent, high level education from one of the best Universities of the world, University of Cambridge on a full scholarship there, and thereafter, I went to Warwick University. I have general knowledge of all engineering fields, with specialisation in electrical engineering and signal processing and stochastic processes and stochastic resonance on which my Masters project was based.

My work experience is as follows:

July – December 2002: Blanche Birger Ltd, Mauritius.
• Understand the basics of OSI Layers and its application in LAN’s
• Brief experience with configuring routers and switches (CISCO)
• Make use of the above two, and personal knowledge-gathering initiatives, to write the program from scratch
• Learned to work dynamically and in a coordinated fashion with two Network Engineers while adapting to their personalites and characters
• Experience and understand tough time constraints and strict design briefs while designing and writing the code

December 2001 – January 2002: Emtel Ltd, Mauritius.
• Learn the basic concepts of cellular networks and mobile communication
• Know the basic elements of Base Stations (Antenna, Cellular Switch Control, Inverter etc)
• Help in the installation of Cellular Base Stations
• Learn about designing and planning a cellular network and its maintenance.
• Gathered experience working in teams made up of people with varied personalities and characters and with different tasks at hand.

I am very enthusiast in what I do, very hard working, eager to learn new things under training possibly and I participate fully in everything related to my job. I am professionally fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.

I can be contacted most quickly on my email which is msajjid@hotmail.com .

Thank you for taking the time to read my quick resume (CV). If you require more information/details, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Jaazaak' Allah.
