It's a deflection of responsibility. It isn't Sym's fault he's Antisemitic. It's those 'Islamophobic' posts he reads on a message board that drove him to hate others.

We've already seen two Muslims use this line to excuse Sym's hatred - and at least one of the two Muslims is an Antisemite as well, so hardly a surprise there (the other is a conspiracy nut).
