Getting a loan for a used car Jan 24, 2008
Does anyone have any experience getting a loan for a used car from a private seller? I would like to avoid the dealerships if possible. What should I expect?

Can you get loans from car dealers? I thought you only got them from a bank or finance company.

Unless it's some sort of under the table arrangement?

any bank will finance you for a used car.
they'll simply present a manager's cheque to the seller, once the registration has been put on yours & the banks name.
