MCSE = 7 EXAMS

Step wise u earn the following certifications :

1st exam ( client or server ) = MCP
2nd exam ( 2,3,4 ) = MCSA
3rd exam ( 5,6,7 ) = MCSE

CCNA = 1 exam

Both are good to learn & earn certification.

MCSE, is self teachable but ccna requires a lab for better handson.

If you are opting for CCNA, i would suggest you to go for CCNP & CCIE as well.

I have been to sitespower for ccna, and believe me they are the best as far as i have known them, good people, good surrounding, excellent facilities as well, but the timing for classes is your problem.

My other suggestion would be: VOIP, Telecom, Infrastructure of 3g networks & telecom stuff..

best of luck

and congratulate me on my 300th post right after 3 years :)

dude, CCNA will take you to wherever you need to advance in your career

MCSA now if a requirement for a Technican job as for the CCNA is a requirement for ISPs, you know what i mean?

The CCNA is a one-exam, entry-level certification (and a rough but somewhat more demanding equivalent to one or perhaps two of the MCP exams, of which seven are required for a modern MCSE). Thus, if forced to choose between one or the other, the MCSE is probably the right choice simply because it requires more work to earn, and thus demonstrates greater knowledge, skills and commitment to the learning process.

That said, plenty of people do earn both MCSE and CCNA credentials because they are rather more complementary than competitive. But the MCSE is clearly a better job ticket than the CCNA, because of the entry-level, single exam status of the latter and the multiple-exam (7) and more demanding criteria for the former. Thus job prospects for MCSEs definitely outstrip those for CCNAs, both in terms of the number and kinds of jobs to which they might lead.

In fact, most people earn the CCNA as a stepping stone to more advanced Cisco certifications (such as the Cisco Professional or Specialist credentials, for which the CCNA is a pre-requisite for the overwhelming majority of credentials in both categories).

soupi said right..

MCSE is more preferable, whereas CCNA is a stepping stone.

So why dont you do both.. then may be advance to the higher level

ahamed, how much did they(sitespower) charged you for the exam?

did you also enrolled for the review? or just took the exam?

actually my background is in electronics and communications engineering,

but most of my work experience(6yrs) I got from electronics manufacturing.

it's just now that i wanted to learn more on IT and communications...

i know there's a lot of IT enthusiast here in the forum. :)

Check the zabeel institute's lab first. I really dint get a chance to see their lab when i was there months back..1000 Unbelievable.. are they giving you the books ? the cd's ?? + labs ???

Sites power they gave me around for 2200 that was habibi, may be a year back or something

Unfortunately i dint give the exams, it was around for some 600 bucks or something. really dont remember..though..never bothered..

VOIP, Telecom, Infrastructure of 3g networks & telecom stuff.. Try etisalat academy.. there was one more institute, but sheesh i forgot the name..

You will get confused between the concept if you join CCNA First and then MCSE..i knew a lady who was a CCNP and then did MCSE, some of ther concept was wrong over DHCP & IP Assigning Since she was talking of a higher degree level.

my suggestion is MCSE in the beginning and CCNA Later on

i will post more details..

hmm.. then its a good deal..

but i still suggest you to take opinion from others before proceeding..

and prefereably complete MCSE & its exams before you jump into CCNA.

All these subjects will become very interesting once you get real time job into them.. cheerz and best of luck

oh yeah about the 3g & voip.. i will let u know shortly.. i really get no time

Had my CCNA. Back then people with that certification were on demand. Now it seems companies are opting for those with CCNP or unfortunately usually CCIE. :?
