My husband got work and he is a carpenter. He applied through seek, and they recruited him to work on an international development.

Don't give up. Just keep applying. You'll get work. There is a trade shortage worldwide. And hubby gets AED 19,000.

Wow thanks DBXsoul - thanks for that! I'm sorry for the 'lengthy' post - I was trying to restrain myself! :D I haven't been able to speak much about this to anyone, and conversations with hubby are so brief!

OMG......Maaad, thank you soo soo much.

I have never seen a place so beautiful. We have NOTHING like this here in Australia.

I had my doubts about taking my children there... you've cleared that well and truly up.

I'm forever indebted. Thank you.

Should I take my Puppy?

I'm from Australia, and we have an adorable Bichon-Frise/Poodle cross. She is the light of our lives. We have willing friends who will take her while we are away for a couple of years in Dubai - but is it worth considering bringing her? It will be an incredibly long trip for her, but I am also conce...

I currently source and recruit for several areas and specialise in the area of volume recruitment (40-50 roles per week) with the aid of Assessment Centres which involve a broad a...

Hi Chocoholic No I don't think we do the pet passport... Australia has incredibly strict quarantine rules. Thanks so much for your response. It will be hard to say goodbye as she is such a big part of our lives, but I think it would be fairer on her to leave her with our friends who love her as much...

Very pracical, thanks so much. As for what the poodle wants... well she loves us. We won't be abandoning her and I think she'll live forever if we don't drag her through the ordeal of Dubai which - going by the points DBX has kindly pointed out, may shorten her life somewhat! She's an indoor dog any...

Hubby told me over the phone tonight that the rent is $60,000 australian a year! Is that right!??! That is insane money and something I can't my h...

It's not the size of the package that matters. It's how you use it. Care to elaborate? My husband is being offered a similar amount, and I'd like to know how to work this to our advantage. It is without question a great sum of money, but how far is it likely to go before it is wittled away with hug...
