Cleanliness Of New Rental

cleanliness of new rental Feb 19, 2008
I'm moving into a new rented apartment in a couple of days and am wondering what to expect. When we viewed the apartment it was dusty and dirty and needed a clean. Of course when I asked the real estate guy he said that it would be cleaned but I don't know how much I can believe that. So, is it usual that new apartments are left dirty or do they really clean them before you move in?

And on a slightly different note do they install the whitegood? They are all brand new and were in the kitchen when we looked at the apartment. I am assuming that with an oven you need an electrician to install it, right?

This is most likely how you will receive it. The bad news is you will need to get a cleaner in or do it yourself. The good news is you don't need to clean it when you move out.

When you buy the white goods the delivery guys will install it. The guys who installed my washing machine nearly blew off their fingers. Thankfully they didn't damage the machine.

ok, i figured that iw as going to have to do the cleaning :(

but the whitegoods come with the apartment and were already sitting there, uninstalled. i guess i should try and see the apartment again the day before we move in and hand over the cheques, in case someone needs to be called in to fix it all up.

In that case they should be installed. Inshallah it might be clean but I would not hold your breath.
