Welcome back to the cricket, for the first time today.

WI Run Rate now back down to a manageable 6 per over.

All out for 138.

Easy does it boys, the trophy is in sight, lets just play it cool.

We only need 2.8 runs per over.

West Indies back to their normal form.

Good though, get the Ausies in a winning mood so we can take em down for the ashes.

Ya know, for the uninitiated, like I once was, the mention of the Ashes conjures some pretty horrific notions in my mind. I mean, the only ashes worth anything to anyone was that of a loved one passed on.

So when you have 2 great nations battling over an urn of ashes, one wonders who the poor (or great, however you may choose to see it) soul was :D :D :D

The Ashes were the remains of the stumps burnt down and presented to the MCC as a symbol of the death of English Cricket (Superiority).

It has always been a hard fought contest with quite often the seeming underdog lifting to the occasion. No matter what shabby state the English or Australian teams are in, they always lift to the highest level for the Ashes.

It can be the best cricket you will ever see.

I knew they were stumps from along ago but I didn't know the significance of it. Now I do, thanks. To concede like that... my, I'm at lost for words.

No doubt some of the best cricket played.

One of my most memorable one was from when Australia played South Africa in the semis from 2 (?) world cups ago. Gripping match it was, right down to the final over and one of the last few balls with a couple of runs separating the 2 sides and would you have believed it, the South Africans snapped under pressure, stopping in mid-run and doubling back.

Don't know if you recalled this one.
