does anyone know how long does it take in the normal slow post box (i dunno what they call it) to send a CD from the UAE to UK ? like not via aramix or anything , just in an envelop .

EDIT: more or less than 30 days ?

By normal air mail should be 3 - 5 days

uhmmm ..i dont think so , it takes that much time for a local magazine to get your letter if you were living in sharjah .

This is a different mail process and not to be compared with Air Mail

Yeah right OK, I've sent stuff from the UAE to the UK and it's taken nearly 4 weeks!

Is this the norm for you or an isolated incident?.

This has also happened to me, however if I take the norm it is 3 - 5 days.

I don't think there is a norm to be honest. I just FedEx everything, normal post is rubbish.

The norm for me is a week, has taken 3-4 weeks sometimes, and a few times it gets lost somewhere in postland! I just fedex anything that I can't afford to lose.

I have to consider myself lucky then

As a tip, get someone to send the package with a franked business post rather than just stamps. That seems to take 4 -5 days. Anything with stamps on takes forever. Had one letter that took 5 months!
