I am new to the forum, so be gentle with me!

I am moving to Dubai at the end of the year and I will be looking for work.

Are there any Agencies in Dubai that specialise in "Retail Management" jobs?

Retail management is not really a specialised profession per say, so no.

Your best bet would be the classifieds.

Classified. Retail management here is not like it would be in other countries. Its a rather lowly job.

Are you saying that Blue Chip Retail Companies work differently in Dubai than they do in the rest of the world?

Are you actually working in the retail industry? From what viewpoint is your opinion formulated?

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who is working in the retail industry in Dubai.

Please clarify (elaborate) on your definiton of a "blue chip retailer".

In short - yes, Dubai works a lot differently to the rest of the world.

You may find most people working in the retail industry would be too busy working 10+ hours per day and/or do not have the facilities to be replying to these posts.

You definately don't work in retail.

Just like the rest of the world then. We all work 10 hours a day!

Actually, come to think of it, just about everyone one I know, who works in London, in whatever industry works 10 hours a day

Just in case anyone wants to know, from my research, quite a few of the recruitment agencies in Dubai offer a selection of senior retail management jobs.

Also "Talismanretail.co.uk" and "retailchoice.com" also have a number of senior management posts on offer for Dubai and other areas in the UAE. Similarly there are other non-dubai based agencies offering senior retail roles in Dubai.

It appears that many of the larger retail companies in Dubai actively advertise outside the UAE for senior appointments.
